Julia says, “Hello, world!”

Hello!

I’m Julia Tran, the new Associate Teacher at BIG BOW English Lab. I’m very excited to be here! I enjoy teaching because I like helping people. I know that studying can be very hard and boring sometimes, so I hope I can help make the lessons fun and interesting.

I’ve been wanting to work in Japan for a long time because I really like Japanese watercolour paintings. Of course, I also love the food here, like zaru-soba! Yum!

Anyway, I’m from Melbourne, Australia. There are lots of things to do in the city, but if you drive for a few hours to the countryside, you can see many beautiful beaches and forestry. If you’re ever in Victoria, I recommend that you spend a day wandering around Daylesford. It’s an old but homely town with lots of green fields and farms nearby.

A few weeks ago I went to visit Uluru (or Ayers Rock) with my family. The sand was so pigmented that we came back home with our shoes all covered in red dirt! It was also very hot! One thing I don’t like about Australia is the summer. A lot of people come to Australia to enjoy the summer, but I can’t stand it! I’d rather fly to Hokkaido to enjoy the snow. However, I’ve heard that the weather can get pretty humid in Japan, so I’m not looking forward to that.
